Freathy is a small village situated in the parish of St Germans, in Cornwall, England. It lies on the south coast of the county, and is around seven miles from the city of Plymouth. It is a rural village, and is home to just over 100 people.

The history of the village dates back to the Iron Age, where it is believed the name Freathy comes from the old Cornish 'frowyth' which means 'hut'. The village was recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086, where it was referred to as 'Frodhie'.

The village has a small harbour, which is home to small fishing boats and pleasure boats. It is also a popular spot for recreational activities such as swimming, sailing and diving, as well as being a base for local boat trips.

During the summer, the village is a popular holiday destination for tourists and visitors from around the world. There is a wide range of accommodation available, including cottages and lodges, as well as camping and caravan sites. There is also a range of activities to enjoy, such as walking, cycling, horse riding and fishing.

The most prominent landmark in the village is Freathy Point. It is a rocky headland which juts out into the sea and is a popular spot for birdwatchers and photographers. It is also home to a nature reserve, which is home to many rare species of flora and fauna.

The village has a number of traditional pubs which serve locally brewed Cornish ales and ciders. It also has a few small shops which sell local produce, as well as a post office.

The local church, St Mary's, is a Grade II listed building, and can be seen in the village centre. The church is an important part of the community, and hosts a variety of events throughout the year, such as concerts and plays.

Freathy is a small village with a lot of charm and character. It is a great place to visit for a relaxing break, or to explore the local area. There is something for everyone, from the nature reserve, to the harbour and the local pubs. The locals are friendly and welcoming, and the village is a great place to visit for a unique and memorable holiday.
