Things to see and do near Boscastle

  • Visit Tintagel Castle – Tintagel Castle is a medieval castle situated on the north coast of Cornwall. It was the legendary birthplace of King Arthur. The castle’s ruins are located on the headland, surrounded by dramatic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
  • Explore Bodmin Moor – Bodmin Moor is a vast expanse of open moorland in the north of Cornwall. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with rugged peaks, streams, woods and heaths. It is home to a variety of wildlife, including red deer, adders and skylarks.
  • Go to the South West Coast Path – The South West Coast Path is a 630-mile long-distance footpath running along the English coast from Minehead in Somerset to Poole in Dorset. It passes through Boscastle, offering spectacular views of the coastline.
  • Take a Boat Trip – Boat trips from Boscastle harbour offer visitors the chance to explore the coastline from a different perspective. Trips usually include visits to the sea caves along the coast and sightings of local wildlife.

  • Visit the Dozmary Pool – The Dozmary Pool is a mysterious lake at the foot of Brown Willy, the highest peak in Cornwall. Legend has it that this is where the Lady of the Lake kept Excalibur, King Arthur's sword.

  • Enjoy a Day Out at the Beach – Enjoy a day out at the beach. Boscastle has several beautiful beaches, such as Crackington Haven and Trebarwith Strand, perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and walking.
