The nearby village of Looe is a popular spot for visitors to Porthallow. It is a lively fishing port with many shops and restaurants. There is also a harbour here which is home to a number of fishing boats.

The area is also known for its spectacular coastal walks. The coastal path from Porthallow to Looe is a stunning route, taking in views of the sea and wildflowers. It is also possible to take a boat trip out to the nearby islands of Looe and St. Anthony's.

Porthallow is a great place to visit for those looking for a traditional Cornish village. It is a peaceful spot away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger towns and cities.
